BFOA To Hold Celebrity Golf Tournament and Fundraiser on September 9th

New York, NY – June 25, 2024The Broadcasters Foundation of America will hold its annual Celebrity Golf Tournament and Fundraiser on Monday, September 9 at the Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, New York. Leo MacCourtney, President and CEO of Katz Television Group and Vice Chair and Treasurer of the BFOA Board of Directors, will serve as the 2024 Celebrity Golf Chair. The Broadcasters Foundation is the only charity devoted exclusively to providing aid to radio and television professionals who are in dire need due to illness or tragedy.

This year, the Broadcasters Foundation will debut The BFOA Pickleball Challenge, which will take place 3 to 5 pm, followed by cocktails and dinner. The Pickleball Challenge is designed to give junior-level broadcast professionals the opportunity to network with their peers and executives, learn more about the Foundation’s charitable purpose, and have fun!

“It is vital that we embrace the new generation of broadcast professionals who have joined our industry,” said Tim McCarthy, President of the Broadcasters Foundation.  “The Pickleball Challenge also enables those that do not play golf to participate in the Celebrity event and enjoy the evening’s festivities. In addition to individual players, we hope to see corporate and market cluster challenges on the Pickleball Courts.”

“The Celebrity Golf Tournament is the second largest Fundraiser for the Broadcasters Foundation,” stated MacCourtney. “The funds we raise are essential to continuing the Foundation’s mission. Requests for aid continue to escalate and we must be there to help every broadcaster who qualifies.”
