Saga’s Chris Forgy Elected to BFOA Board of Directors

New York, NY – June 18, 2024 – Broadcasters Foundation of America has elected Chris Forgy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saga Communications, to its Board of Directors. The vote took place during the Broadcasters Foundation Board annual meeting in New York City. The Broadcasters Foundation is the only charity devoted exclusively to providing financial assistance to broadcasters who are experiencing devastating illness or tragedy and need help.

Chair of the Broadcasters Foundation, Scott Herman, said, “Chris is a well-respected leader in the broadcast industry, and I’m delighted to welcome him to our Board. His input will be valuable as we continue to deliver aid to our colleagues who are in desperate need.”

“I have always believed in giving back to the industry that has allowed me to be of service to local communities,” stated Forgy. “Colleagues who have fallen on extremely difficult circumstances need and deserve our support. I am honored to serve on the Board and contribute to the Foundation’s charitable mission.”

Prior to being named to his current position, Forgy spent close to five years as Saga’s Chief Operating Officer. Before that, he was at the helm of Saga’s four-station cluster in Columbus, Ohio, WSNY/WNND/WVMX/WLVQ. He also did stints at Nationwide Communications, Susquehanna Broadcasting, Rodriguez Broadcasting, and Great Trails Broadcasting, starting out as a sales representative and moving through the ranks to General Sales Manager, Director of Sales, eventually into station management, to his current executive leadership role.

The Broadcasters Foundation’s Board of Directors is comprised of highly respected broadcast executives who are committed to “giving back” through the Broadcasters Foundation. The members of the Board represent a wide array of broadcast and broadcast-related companies.
